A petroleum fuel terminal proposed in our community
A petroleum fuel terminal has been proposed in Hockley, Texas in the heart of one of the fastest-growing residential corridors in the United States.
The project would introduce industrial-scale fuel storage tanks, fuel loading operations, increased truck traffic, and permitted air emissions within close proximity to homes, schools, churches, parks, and community gathering spaces.
Residents deserve to understand what is being proposed, where the project stands today, and how it could influence the future growth and character of our community.
Responsible development protects what we love.
Hockley is growing — and that growth should reflect the values of the people who live here.
Public Safety
Fuel terminals store and transfer flammable products, creating potential risks including leaks, fires, explosions, and emergency response incidents.
Air Quality
Fuel storage and loading activities can generate emissions that contribute to local air quality and health concerns.
Traffic & Infrastructure
The proposed facility will increase truck traffic and place additional demands on roads serving nearby neighborhoods and businesses.
Property Values
Industrial development near residential communities can influence property desirability, marketability, and future investment decisions.
